Unaware Business man

You are a petrocrat (=Ölbaron) who's owning one huge oil field. In your whole life you really never cared about climate change and greenhouse gases, because you inherited the business through your family and never questioned anything, but while you go through this story, you'll encounter multiple events that might change your opinion. As you sit in your headquarters, which is approximately 50km away from your fields, you get a call from one of your employees. They say, you have to come over and settle something between some workers and demonstrators. What do you use as your vehicle to get there? As you ride the bus, you encounter other demonstrators that are on the same way to the oil field to demonstrate against your company. They looked suprised, when they saw you but didn't talked to you. You arrived at the fields peacefully and instantly your assistant informed you about the cause of the demonstration. Your company wanted to expand the production of oil and to achieve that you need to deforest the environment immensly. Later a demonstrator confronts you with the fact that each year approximately 12 million hectares of forest are destroyed and wildlife is also disturbed through biodiverstiy loss and possible forest fires. Because of the lately events, you begin question yourself and your business and think about revolutonize your company and abandone oil. How do you want to achieve that? An other demonstrator filmed your behavior and you get a huge shitstorm. Your family is ashamed of you and you lost a lot of investors. Later that year, your company got shut down through too high carbon emissions, this was a policy to reduce 60% in emissions from oil and gas to 2030. [[try again?|begin]]

You start to invest in solar, wind and biomass energy. Firstly you lose a lot of money because of the abandonement of oil but through the subventions of the state your company gains profit through clean and sustainable energy. Everything stays the way it is and you still pollute the world with your oil production. 10 years later you experience severall climate events like floods and storms that destroy your company and you're left with nothing. Additionally the atmosphere heated for 3 whole degrees, which lead to heatwaves which decreased the health quality of the world population. You start to regret your decisions in the past. You arrive at the field and as the demonstrators see your car, they get violent and start to shout things like that the production, transport and processing of oil and gas resulted in 5.1 billion tonnes carbon dioxide in 2022. This equals to 15% of the energy-related greenhouse gas emissions and the use of oil and gas results to another 40%.
